Land Between the Lakes - Hiking the Honker Lake Trail - October 2023
Troop 521 combined requirements for the Cooking merit badge with a hike at Land Between the Lakes. Starting at the Woodlands Nature Station, we hiked the Honker Lake Trail, stopping halfway for a snack and then a hot cooked meal at the pavilion when we finished the hike.
It's always nice to know where you are going so stopping to check the map from time to time is always a good idea.
Then again, you can always just read the sign.
Taking a break near the halfway point just plain makes sense. What a view of the lake! Are we there yet?
The expression "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it" can mean just that. Here we go crossing the bridge and making progress toward the end of the trail
